Wish

I’m ready for something bigger

But what exactly, I do not know.

Yet I’ve already pushed the trigger -

Just watch me grow !

I wished for so many things

And dreamt for even more.

I needed air under my wings

And learnt on my own to soar.

Step by step I walk this path alone,

I know I needn’t, but I still want someone

With whom I can share a throne

And together watch the things we’ve done.

Life is cruel, yet I can’t complain of mine

I just wished for things I cannot have.

My hopes were up and waited for a sign

One I know now it will never come.

So, I’ve done my waiting - putting a stop to it,

I’ll pave my own way, I cannot quit.

I might be wounded, but I have my wit,

And I’ll find my way out of this awful pit.
